Our Approach
Restoration House operates using a low-barrier, dignity-centered model. We believe connection, prevention, and community support are just as important as crisis intervention. By combining direct relief with advocacy and recovery-informed services, we serve as both a safety net and a bridge toward long-term independence.
A Holistic Approach to Nourishment
Community Garden
Our community garden offers fresh produce and serves as an educational space. Each year, we grow and distribute approximately 500 pounds of locally sourced food, including popular varieties like mustard greens and mint leaves. The garden is an excellent resource for teaching sustainable agriculture practices while fostering a sense of community and environmental stewardship. Join us on Saturdays!
At Restoration House WNC, fighting hunger means building community, dignity, and connection.
Through our partnership with MANNA Foodbank, we distributed over 60,000 pounds of food in just six months last year. Our 24/7 outdoor food pantry allows neighbors to access food privately and safely whenever they need it. We also offer an outdoor refrigerator for fresh and perishable items, along with a free public health vending machine that provides food, wellness supplies, and harm reduction resources.
Our community garden grows fresh produce while bringing people together, and our community kitchen provides a welcoming space to cook, share meals, and find fellowship.
Because at Restoration House, access to food helps create stability, supports wellness, and strengthens our community.
